Lease agreements are permanent, consensual and gratuitous agreements that impose a debt on both parties, and are comprehensively regulated in the Turkish Code of Obligations and defined by the legislator in Article 299 of the law. According to the law, a lease agreement is a contract in which the lessor agrees to use or benefit from something in addition to using it, to the lessee party, and in return the lessee undertakes to pay the rent agreed upon between the parties.

This definition in the law; It is a definition that not only covers residential rent, roofed workplace rent and product rent, but also defines all kinds of rental relationships. If we start from this definition in the law, it will be possible to divide lease agreements into two: lease agreements that create a benefit obligation and lease agreements that create a benefit obligation. In addition, rental agreements can be divided into two types, based on the duration of their contract: fixed-term or indefinite-term rental agreements.
